Hello, I'm Igor!
I was born in Lviv, Ukraine but have called Cleveland, OH home since 1996.
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by symmetry, patterns, and light. Photography was a natural hobby for me to pursue, and as soon as I acquired a camera, it quickly became a fulfilling passion of mine. Being able to express myself visually has provided me with a sense of purpose and direction in my life. I find it fascinating that photographs transcend different languages and can be understood universally.
I am self-taught and I thrive on capturing unique moments in time that encourage the viewer to linger on the image and envision themselves in the scene. Although landscapes dominate my portfolio, I occasionally work in commercial and portrait photography as well.
Photography is the perfect medium because it forces me to notice things around us that would otherwise seem inconsequential and mundane and turn them into art. I incorporate a mix of nature and urban settings into my photography, and I like to play with leading lines and color in my compositions. Although the majority of my work showcases the beauty of Ohio, I enjoy traveling and exploring new areas in search of the next perfect subject. Through photography, I have embraced all the weather patterns we have here in Ohio, as my favorite time to take photographs tends to be during rainstorms or on snowy days. My job as the photographer is to figure out which perspective makes the photograph more interesting and engaging - this often involves meticulous planning and some good luck regarding mother nature. If all goes well, the result will be magic, and hopeful my photograph will hold the viewer's focus and cause them to connect with the image emotionally - that is my greatest reward.
